Pause for a moment. Take in that deep breath. Let it out. Now clear your mind and focus with me.
Our church. The blessing God has given us to oversee and take care of. The only requirements that were given is to love one another and make disciples. What does this look like? Do not think of our mission statement or theology “what we believe”. Just focus with me on the idea of what church is. It’s way of doing ministry. The needs it is meeting. The people that it attracts.
Ask yourself these questions. What impact is it making in the community? How do we know? Is the impact of this church spreading?
These are the questions I ask myself. Is our church’s purpose distinguishable enough from the others around? Are we meeting the needs of the community? What are those needs? Are there questions we are not asking that if we could be the answer too that we can show the love of Christ to those in need?
Now un-pause! Let’s push that play button and lets us not just “go” to church but “be the church”.
